May Is Arthritis Awareness Month

Over the past few years I have discovered that there are quite a few widely held and terribly inaccurate myths about arthritis…So if you get the chance this month, try to educate someone about the true facts of life with arthritis!

That's exactly what I'm trying to do this month! There are so many CRAZY notions about RA and I feel like it gets an unfortunately low amount of press compared to other diseases and conditions out there. It's frustrating to think about how many people have no idea that it can affect young people or even cause death. An unfortunate amount of people mistakenly think that "arthritis" just means a couple little aches and pains as people age, and they could not be further from the truth!

I helped put together this handy arthritis infographic if you're interested in checking it out. I'm on a similar mission to get the word out! If you like it and think it would be of interest to your readers, feel free to share it. Thanks for sharing your experiences with RA. Hopefully through the efforts of people like you, this won't be such a misunderstood condition for long.
