She didn’t want to hear about my experiences
or share her personal experiences with arthritis. Nope. Instead she
wanted to offer me the miracle cure. Have you ever been offered “the
miracle cure”? How did you respond?
My gosh, I can't believe you had to go through that! Having RA is already such a challenge, and I feel like it only compounds your physical pain to deal with the emotional pain inflicted by someone's ignorance on top of that. I think you handled it very graciously, and applaud the fact that you kept your cool. I read an article recently that examines the chronic fatigue that RA patients experience, which would have made it even harder to stay kind. (If you're anything like me, being tired wears on your mood.) People need to think before they do something like that though. As you said, if there was a simple cure like "getting rid of bacteria," your doctors would have already implemented it.
I have never been offered a "Miracle cure" but I guess I will be prepared to hear about the gin-soaked raisins at some point... *sigh.* Hope you're having a great day!
