Making Biologic Medications Accessible And Affordable

While I was excited to try the medication my rheumatologist suggested, I was shocked to discover that I would need to pay nearly $1,000 a month out of pocket! Learn more about my efforts to support The Patients’ Access to Treatments Act - legislation that makes medications more accessible & affordable. And find out what you can do to help!

Dear Mariah,

I live in London, with my husband and children. I have experienced joints (shoulder, neck) pain for the past 4 years, but stupidly ignored it. When the toes joints began hurting, I made a connection that this could be RA (psoriatic, in my case). Still waiting to be diagnosed, though, so this is jumping ahead a little. Read about the biologics treatment and will be interesting to see if in the UK this is any more affordable.

Dear Mariah,

I live in London with my husband and children. I have had joints pain (one shoulder + neck) for the past 5 years and stupidly ignored it! When the wrists, fingers and toes began hurting, I made a connection, that it could be RA (in my case psoriatic). Although I'm still awaiting to be diagnosed, as I should say I have no faith in my GP who knew about the complaints all along. It would be interesting to see if biologics are in any way more affordable here. Thank you for your blog. Tricia
