California Coast Classic - Day 2

Today the riders covered 48.6 miles from Santa Cruz to Monterey. It was a shorter day for the riders, but it was a very long day for me.

The past two weeks have really been a lot: Austin's kidney stone + my root canal + my infusion + the chaos of prepping for this trip + traveling with two toddlers! Though I started off today with all the enthusiasm in the world (and a tutu!), by the time my work at the rest stop was winding down, I felt like I had really hit a wall (not to mention having a slight hangover from my dose of methotrexate last night.)

But I guess that's the reality behind the face of arthritis: enthusiasm can be followed by exhaustion in a matter of hours. And that's one of the reasons that everyone at the CCC is working so hard to raise funds and awareness for the 1 in 5 adults and 300,000 kids living with arthritis.
