California Coast Classic - Day 3.5

Yesterday we ended the ride in Big Sur (where there is no cell service, hence the delay on this post). The riders covered about 50 miles on Day 3.

Even though I'm not riding, I was in pretty bad shape by the end of the day. I guess the chaos of the past few weeks, the stress of getting our family to California, and several nights sleeping on the ground all with RA finally caught up with me. I hurt EVERYWHERE and was having trouble functioning. Austin, being the amazing partner that he is, booked me a massage. I felt very weird partaking in a service that is there for the riders (even though the massage people had plenty of open appointments and probably don't care who gets the massage as long as you are paying for it, which we were) However, I will say that I think it helped me a lot. I am feeling much better today, which in turn enables me to continue supporting the riders. Which is what I'm here to do.

After that we got to spend some time at the River Inn - feet in the water, beer in the hand. It was glorious, and truly one of the highlights of the trip!!
