As instructed by my rheumatologist last week, I just took my (hopefully) last ever dose of prednisone! Goodbye, prednisone!!
Hopefully I'll also be saying goodbye to high blood pressure, insomnia, medication weight gain, and (not going to lie, perhaps most importantly) fat face!!
Now all I have to do is keep my fingers crossed (if I can!) that the ENBREL and methotrexate can stand alone in keeping my RA pain under control. Otherwise its back to the drawing board. Wish me luck!

Good luck to you! I've just been on it a very short time and stopped taking it yesterday, so I didn't have a chance to develop any side effects that I noticed. I can only hope I don't have to go back on it any time soon. I've got my fingers crossed for you! :)

My rheumy had mentioned last time i saw him that he wanted to get me off pred soon. We will see what happens on my appt this wed, i'm looking forward to seeing him and going over everything.
Good luck at your appointment on Wednesday, Skye! You might want to think about writing down your questions in advance and taking it with you. Sometimes I get overwhelmed/flustered when I'm talking to the doctor, and having a list makes sure you don't forget to ask questions you meant to ask!
So glad you are getting off of the prednisone. I hate that stuff! I will be thinking of you lots!

Thanks, Mandy! It's a love-hate relationship with prednisone. The long term side effects are SO icky but it helps with the pain SO much! And we still have to see how it goes - so don't be jealous yet! ~;o)
I hear ya on the love/hate! We are TRYing to start my taper, I'm on a BIG dose! I'm soo puffy! And got a nice belly full of jelly I'd love any smaller dose. First round taper didn't go too well... Here we go round #2! I'm hoping it goes well!
